Landfill Waste Management

What makes us different?

Landfill gas has been used in power generation since the mid 80’s with approximately 500 active sites throughout the UK.

The gas produced by landfill is a natural byproduct of the decomposition of organic waste, primarily containing 50% methane and 50% carbon dioxide. By burning the gas that is collected this can be used to generate electricity through combined heat and power. This is a valuable renewable energy source whilst helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Working in partnership with our European suppliers, CooperOstlund can provide gas-to-grid (G2G) which will upgrade the gas into biomethane which can be injected into the existing natural gas grid.
